This list was started in 1988 and includes the many species which have been identified on Hacienda Barú National Wildlife Refuge (336 hectares, elevation from 0 to 300 meters above sea level,) since that year. It includes species identified in adjacent areas, in the Barú River and over the ocean in front of the refuge.
