Pool View Rooms

Pool view rooms with a view of the rainforest beautiful pool in a natural setting.

Each unit has one king size bed and one single bed (bedding configuration can be changed according to guests’ needs), one large bathroom with hot water shower, fridge, coffee maker and safe.

Your front porch is a great place for early morning and afternoon reading, bird watching and coffee drinking. The tile roofing is actually made from recycled plastic bags. A well ventilated design, insulation between the roofing and the polished teak ceiling, and overhead fans all create a cool oasis from the hot and humid lowland tropical rainforest. Not a single piece of the wood used came from a natural forest.

All of the teak and melina wood used in the construction came from Hacienda Barú’s own plantations. The wood for the pine beams and furniture all came from plantations as well. Solar heaters provide plenty of hot water for the bathrooms.

When we built these pool view rooms we decided to go ahead and put in a swimming pool which is right across from the rooms. Our guests often enjoy a cool dip after hiking in the jungle or a run on the beach. Our lodge sits right inside the Hacienda Baru National Wildlife Refuge, and the rainforest is only about 25 meters from the rooms. Visits by monkeys, who play in the jungle behind the rooms, are not unusual. Three kilometers of beach and the Pacific Ocean are just a short walk from your front door. (Hot Climate)

Two day stay at Hacienda Baru

My girlfriend and I stayed at Hacienda Baru for two nights Sept. 7-9 2017 and had a great stay. The rooms were spacious and ours was by the swimming pool which was very nice. Room had a icebox which we kept water and fruit in. The meals at the restaurant were very good and all the employees were very friendly and courteous. The hotel grounds were loaded with birds with the Cherries tanager being the most abundant bird. Sloth was in tree behind our cabana during our stay. We booked a 3-4 hour tour for birding on the property with a young guide named Daber and he was really good. We saw lots of birds as well as 40-50 coatis, tamandua, sloths, etc. We birded for close to 5 hours and still didn’t see all the property. We saw lots of life birds on tour and Daber digiscoped every bird for us using my girlfriends cell phone. Awesome pictures he took. The Pacific Ocean was a short 10 minute walk from the hotel. It is a wild looking beach and the waves were large and a very strong current. Beach was completely deserted when my girlfriend and I walked to it. Hacienda Baru is a place I would love to visit again. The amount of wildlife present is impressive.
